The Crookston Pirate Girls Basketball team found out why the Menahga Braves are undefeated this season after a 74-42 loss in a Section 8AA matchup at the Crookston High School gymnasium. The Mathcounts chapter competition was held on Friday, February 6, in Thief River Falls. The Competition Series has four levels of competition—school, chapter, state, and national. The Mahnomen/Waubun Thunderbirds finished the game strong in a back-and-forth battle to beat the Climax-Fisher Knights 81-75 in a Section 8A game played at the Fisher High School Gym.
