The Stephen-Argyle Storm football team wrapped up their undefeated regular season with a 55-6 win over the Nevis Tigers in a non-section game played in Argyle. Crookston’s Katherine Geist won her 10th straight cross country meet of the season when she won the Bemidji Cross Country Invitational in Bemidji. Katherine was first out of 80 runners with a time of 19:34, which was 23 seconds better than Perham’s Liz Birkeland. Emily Gillette finished in 69th place with a time of 25:29.
The Crookston Pirate Girl’s Swim team came up short in all three “duals” with losses to Thief River Falls, Grand Forks Central and Grand Forks Red River in a quadrangular at the Crookston Community Pool. The teams only swam once, but the times were taken and compared to the other teams for the “dual” scores.
The Crookston Fire Department has announced the hiring of Justin Johnson as a full-time firefighter. Johnson will fill the full-time position that opened with Brian Halos’ retirement last month.
