Barbara Stadler – Obit

Barbara (Raun, Rasmusson) Stadler of Ada, MN passed away at her home on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, surrounded by her family.

Barb was born to Burton and Agnes (Lunde) Raun on March 10, 1936, in Park River, MN. After graduating Interstate Business College Barb worked at the Fargo Forum. Barb married Eugene Rasmusson on June 22, 1957, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Ulen, MN. Together they lived in Ada where they raised their five children until Eugene’s death on February 24, 1981.

Barb married Willis Stadler on September 27, 1985, at Grace Lutheran Church in Ada, MN. Together they enjoyed trips to the lake and traveling until his death on November 29, 1994.

Barb was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and Ladies Axillary.

Barb worked many various jobs including Weiss Harz Store, Arnies’ Fairway along with bookkeeping at OK Tire and Cenex, but her favorite job was waitressing at Quickie Lunch, Green Lantern, VFW, Liquor Store, and the Creamery Restaurant where she enjoyed visiting with the local customers.

Barb enjoyed spending time with family, cross-stitching, reading, puzzles, and flower gardening. She enjoyed cooking for whoever showed up at her door. Barb was known as “mom” and “grandma” to many of her children and grandchildren’s friends.

Barb touched many lives with her friendly smile and her frankness. She will be lovingly missed by her family and many friends.

Barbara is survived by her children, Bradley (Robyn) Rasmusson, Crookston, MN, Cindy Nelson, Waubun, MN, Dana (Mike) Skansgaard, Ada, MN, Brian (Colleen) Rasmusson, Perley, MN, and Reed Rasmusson, Ada, MN; stepchildren, Tom Stadler, Don Stadler, Mike Stadler, Steve Stadler, Vicki Hintz, Terry Stadler, Scott Stadler, and Jim Stadler; 17 grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren, with 2 more on the way; twin sister, Bev (Darrel) Montieth, Crookston, MN; sister-in-law, Marie Raun, Detroit Lakes, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by husband, Eugene Rasmusson, and husband, Bill Stadler; parents, Burton and Agnes Raun; daughter-in-law, Karla Rasmusson; son-in-law, Ken Nelson; stepdaughter, Carol Stadler; and siblings, Maynard Raun, Ing Aasleson, Lyle Raun, and Arlene Anderson.

Funeral: 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Grace Lutheran Church, Ada, MN.  

Visitation: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Monday, November 14, 2022 at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Home, Ada, MN.

Burial: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
