Bemidji Shuts Out Pirate Boys Soccer

The Bemidji Lumberjacks scored just under eight minutes into the game and that is all they would need in a 9-0 victory over the Crookston Pirates Boy’s Soccer team in a game played at the Crookston High School Soccer field.
Bemidji’s Silas Hess scored 7:50 into the game and Ethan Mock added another goal just over three minutes later for a quick 2-0 lead.  Bemidji added another goal in the final six minutes of the half to take a 3-0 lead into halftime.
Bemidji blew the game open with five goals in a nine-minute span and they added another goal late in the game for the 9-0 victory.  “Bemidji is a very good team, but we didn’t play very good today.  It seemed like we were defeated before the game started,” said Pirate Coach Don Cox. “We struggled to stay positive and got down on ourselves and I had to take some guys out to cool them down.  It was frustrating, but we have to keep playing smart and playing hard.”
Crookston drops to 1-6 on the year and will host Detroit lakes on Tuesday.   Bemidji improves to 7-1 and picks up their fifth shutout of the year.
