Bev Nelson, age 67, of Mentor, MN, passed away on Wednesday, May 25th, at Villa St. Vincent in Crookston, MN. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 6th,
at Faith Lutheran Church in Mentor with the Rev. Mike Sletto officiating. Interment will be in Faith Lutheran Cemetery, Mentor. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service on Sunday, June 5th, at Faith Lutheran Church. Family will also greet friend for one hour prior to the service. Beverly Lou Danielson was born on May 17, 1955, in Moorhead, Minnesota to parents Raymond and Esther (Gross) Danielson. She grew up in Mentor and graduated from Mentor High School in 1973.
Bev was united in marriage to Courtney Nelson on June 9, 1973, at Bethel Bible Church in Mentor. After their marriage, they lived for a short time in Indiana; then to Erskine for a few years before settling back in Mentor in 1981.
She was a past member of Bethel Bible Church and was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Mentor.
Bev enjoyed mowing and took pride in having a nice lawn. It was not only her yard/lawn but many other yards in Mentor that she mowed. She also liked playing cards, bingo, word-search puzzles, big jigsaw puzzles, and playing Nintendo (which she was very good at!).
Above all, Bev fiercely and lovingly cared for her family. In fact, she loved anything that had to do with family. Whether it be holidays, weekend meals, or simple daily activities, she was always there for her family. She was a wonderful cook and baker and was especially known for her potato salad.
Though she struggled mightily with health issues these past couple of years, Bev was a fighter. She never gave up. Her spirit and attitude through difficult times was an inspiration. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her three children, Laura (Charlie) Newman of Grand Forks, ND, Jeremy Nelson of Crookston, MN, and Stephanie Nelson of Mentor; four grandchildren, Ian, Riley, Jack and Lily; one brother, Roger Danielson of Mentor; nephew Tony (Joy) Grove of Mims, FL, and niece, Terry Grove of Crookston, MN and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Courtney, in 2016; her parents; brothers, Lawren and Jody “Stubby” Danielson; and two sisters, Donna Grove and Barb Danielson.
