This fall, Broadway is coming to the Grand Theatre in Downtown Crookston, MN, brought to you by the Downtown Crookston Development Partnership, in an effort to showcase the historical Grand Theatre.
First up explains Shirley Iverson of the Downtown Crookston Development Partnership is Hamilton, streaming Monday, October 7 at 7:00 p.m. “In October, we will be streaming Hamilton, which was nominated for 16 Tony Awards, the winner of 11, and prior to that production, the play itself won a Pulitzer Prize for drama,” says Iverson. “We are talking a really great production, done by Disney, a Broadway play, New York, being streamed in our historic theatre.”
In November, The Downtown Crookston Development Partnership will be showing a free movie. The Book of Life says Iverson is a family-friendly animated movie about the past, present, and future. The Book of Life will be shown Monday, November 25, at 7:00 p.m. “This is a very exciting opportunity again to include the community,”
For the holiday season, Iverson says they are planning a surprise show, with more information to be available soon. “It will be in the month of December, and we are still working out a couple of details, but that will complete our fall-to-winter transition of Broadway at the Grand Theatre.
The theatre will open at 6:30 p.m. for the free events. Concessions will be open, and movies will start promptly at 7 p.m.
