Community Christmas Food Baskets

The Community Christmas Food Basket Committee is offering individuals and families in need a Hugo’s gift card to purchase food items this holiday season. Now through Friday, December 12, call 218-289-7796 between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. to register for a gift card. One gift card per family and address will be provided and mailed out before Christmas.

RiverView Health Auxiliary Mitten Tree

The RiverView Auxiliary Mitten Tree is on display just outside the Limited Addition Gift Shop. The tree is ready to be adorned with donations of new mittens, gloves, and hats. Donations will be distributed to area elementary schools, helping keep our community warm during the winter months.

Crookston Home Delivered Meals

The Home Delivered meals this week will be delivered by Ag Country, Brost Chevrolet, Valley Plains Equipment, and Crookston Public Library.

Crookston Public Library

This December, the Crookston Public Library is holding the Food for Fines program. You can bring in one unexpired, non-perishable food item and for each item you bring in, you will get $2 off your late fee. Donations will be given to local food pantries.

Crookston DAV Auxiliary

The Crookston DAV Auxiliary meeting scheduled for today at the Golden Link has been canceled.

Christmas Concert at Hafslo Church

The 14th Annual Christmas Concert in the Hafslo Church at the Polk County Museum will be tonight at 7:00 p.m. featuring the University of Minnesota Crookston Concert Choir and String Ensemble under the direction of George French. Free will offering will be taken for the Hafslo Church front siding and painting project. Reception to follow in the Museum Auditorium with Christmas goodies and beverages. Sponsored by the Polk County Historical Society.

UMC Santa Land

Join the University of Minnesota Crookston for festive fun at Santa Land on Saturday, December 6 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Sargeant Student Center. Snap a photo with Santa, enjoy tasty treats, dive into crafts and activities and stick around for a 4:00 p.m. showing of Jim Carrey’s The Grinch. Free and open to the public!! Hosted by the Crookston Student Association.

Crookston Eagles Club

The Crookston Eagles will have bar bingo at 2:00 p.m. Saturday. $400 must go.

Bygland Lutheran Church

Christmas in the Country Lutefisk and Meatball Dinner, Bazaar and Bake Sale at the Bygland Lutheran Church will be Sunday, December 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.. Cost for adults is $20 and children 12 and under are free. Bygland Lutheran Church is located 8 miles south of East Grand Forks on Highway 220.

Crookston High School Music Department Classic Noel

The Crookston High School Music Department will present its 26th Annual Classic Noel and Dinner Concert on Sunday, December 7, at the Crookston High School. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m.

The Crookston Youth Basketball Association (CYBA) invites you for a fun filled evening as they watch the Timberwolves take on the Phoenix Suns on the big screen at the Grand Theatre on Monday, December 8 at 6:45 p.m. Admission is free. Concessions will be available to purchase.

Crookston Public Library

Crookston Public Library will host a STEM-sational Tuesdays event on Tuesday, December 9, from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. at the Crookston Public Library. This month, we will be working on a creative winter project, and kids of all ages are invited to create a snowstorm in a jar, build snowball catapults, and string beads to make their own candy cane ornaments to take home.

Benedictine Angel Tree

Community members are encouraged to pick an Angel off the Angel Tree at Benedictine Living Community-Crookston and purchase a gift for a Villa resident. The Angel Tree will be at the Villa south entrance, door 2, on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 9 and 10 from 8:00 to 4:30.

A UMC Student from Ukraine will speak and present a slide presentation and share the events she has experienced during the devastating war on Tuesday, December 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the Golden Link.

Crookston Public Library

The Crookston Public Library Learning Lab for ages 5 through 13 will be on Monday, December 15, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. This month’s topic is circuits. This is a come-and-go event at your convenience, featuring activities and games that allow you to learn about circuits in a fun and engaging way. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to attend with the children as it will require reading and following directions.

ECFE Daddy and Me event

The Early Childhood Family Education Daddy and Me event will be on Monday, December 15, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Washington School. The Crookston Police and Reserves will deliver Crookston Home Delivered Meals December 22-24, and 26. The Crookston Home Delivered Meals will be delivered on Christmas by the Home Delivered Meals board.

The program provides one book every month to your child for FREE from when you enroll until they turn five. Crookston Public Library – New Born Baby Talk

Every Tuesday (except for Federal Holidays), The Crookston Public Library will host New Born Baby Talk from 9:30 am. to 11:00 a.m. This is for parents with babies 0-12 weeks old. A public health nurse, parent educator, and lactation specialist will be available to answer questions about your newborn and provide support and information on your new journey of parenting.

Crookston Public Library – Books & Brews Book Club Meeting

The Crookston Public Library’s Books & Brews Book Club meets on the fourth Tuesday of every other month at 6:00 p.m. at Drafts Sports Bar and Grill. They will discuss books and enjoy beverages. Appetizers are provided by the Friends of the Crookston Public Library; participants are responsible for the cost of their food and drinks. All are welcome.
