Crookston Public Schools
Crookston Public Schools will have Early Childhood Screening on March 17 and 18 at Washington School. Screening is for children who are 3 years old by March 1, 2026, or 4 and 5-year-olds who have not been screened. Minnesota law requires all children to be screened before entering pre-school and kindergarten. The screening is a free and simple check of how your child is growing, developing, and learning. Trinity Lutheran Church
Trinity Lutheran Church in Crookston is postponing Ash Wednesday Service to Thursday, February 19 at Noon and 6:30 pm. The remaining Lent services are on February 25, March 4, 11, 18, and 25. A meal will be served at 5:30 and worship at 6:30. Thursday, April 2 is the Maundy Thursday service at 6:30 and Good Friday service April 3 is at 6:30.
Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life

The Crookston Public Schools will not have school on Thursday due to Parent Teachers Conferences, which will be held from 8:00-11:00 a.m., 12:00-4:00 p.m. and 5:00 to 7:30 p.m., and there will be no school on Friday, February 20, as that is a Compensation Day.

The RiverView Auxiliary is hosting a Blood Drive on Friday, February 20. The need for blood donations remains constant, and each donation can save multiple lives. Join the Crookston Public Library for a Hygge & Fika Hangout on Friday, February 20, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Explore the concepts of Hygge, the Danish art of relaxing, and Fika, the Swedish coffee break. The library will provide warm beverages and treats, along with puzzles and coloring activities, and encourage you to bring any of your favorite quiet and cozy activities, such as journaling, drawing, fiber crafts, or a cozy book to read.

The Crookston Public Library will wrap up Bird Month with Art, Birds, and Life with retired MN DNR Wildlife Manager and artist Ross H. Heir on Friday, February 20 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Attendees will enjoy a showcase of Ross’s stunning watercolor bird painting and will have a chance to share their own observations from birding during a Q and A session.

Highland School Itasca Trip fundraiser
Highland Elementary School will have a free will breakfast fundraiser for the Sixth Grade class trip to Itasca State Park. The breakfast fundraiser will be held on Sunday at the Crookston Masonic Lodge #141 at 112 West Robert Street in downtown Crookston from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. They will be serving waffles, French Toast, gluten free pancakes, sausage, and orange juice. All the proceeds go to support the sixth graders annual trip to Itasca State Park in the spring.

Library Learning Lab for ages 5 to 12 will be held on Monday, February 23, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and Tuesday, February 24, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Crookston Public Library. This month, they will explore the Winter Olympics and engage in activities about some of the Winter Olympic Games and the science behind them. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to attend with children, as the activities will require that directions be read and followed. This is a come-and-go when you like event.

A Poke-Lab to craft your own Pikachu or Eevee headbands and a functional Poke Ball that actually opens. A training Zone to relax with themed coloring pages and word searches. This event is geared toward ages 10 and over.
