Alluma Night at Northland Community and Technical College
Alluma Night will take place today, starting at 4:30 p.m. at the Northland Community and Technical College in East Grand Forks. This is a free community event and is a family-friendly space to connect and experience different ways to heal, cope, and care for your mental health. There will be a mental health expo and resources, interactive stations, community connection, food trucks, meditation, yoga, and giveaways.
Crookston Pickleball Club Family Event
The Crookston Pickleball Club will host a free fun family event where you can learn the basics of pickleball this evening at Schuster Park Pickleball Courts. Session 1 is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Session 2 is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. This event is recommended for ages five plus. Paddles are available to borrow or bring your own. Adopt-a-Basket 2025
Adopt-a-Basket 2025 is available now in Crookston. The Downtown Crookston Development Partnership will be taking orders through June 6, 2025. The baskets are $65 each or $125 for two baskets. American Legion Auxiliary, Nels T Wold Unit 20 Meeting
The Crookston American Legion Auxiliary, Nels T Wold Unit 20 will hold their June meeting on Wednesday, June 4, at 1:00 p.m. in the community room at the Golden Link Senior Center.
Sounds of the Prairie Chamber Music Festival
The “Sounds of the Prairie Chamber Music Festival” will present a concert at the First Presbyterian Church, 501 N. Broadway, Wednesday, June 4, at 7:00 p.m. This ensemble from the Greater Grand Forks Symphony will present a professional program of classical music. Enjoy compositions from Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart, and more. There will be a free-will offering and the ensemble will also be performing at the Summit Apartments third-floor dining room at 1:00 that same afternoon, June 4.
Erskine’s 69th Annual Water Carnival
Erskine’s 69th Annual Water Carnival will be June 6, 7 and 8. There will be street dances, Wojo’s Rodeo, golf and bag tournaments, flea market, craft show, bicycle giveaways, fireworks, parade, bingo, 5K walk/run, classic car, tractor and bike show, kids tractor pull and many other events. Household Hazardous Waste Collection Events
Polk County Environmental Services is once again holding its annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection events. The first collection event will be held at the Fertile Fairgrounds on Friday, June 6 from 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. The second collection will be at the East Shore Beach Area of Maple Lake off County Highway 10 on Saturday, June 7th from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon.

Wild About Reading Summer Reading Program-Crookston Public Library
Wild About Reading Summer Reading Program at the Crookston Public Library will hold their first event, Red River Zoomobile, on Wednesday, June 11, at 2:00 p.m. Attendees will learn facts about different zoo animals and will get to interact with animals from the zoo. This program is geared towards children ages five to ten years of age.
Crookston Public Library – Free Concert
The Crookston Public Library invites the community to a free outdoor concert on June 12, at 6:00 p.m. The Fargo Spelemannslag Hardanger Fiddler will take the stage and share the wonderful music of handmade instruments. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair.
Birds and Beyond at the Crookston Public Library
The Crookston Public Library will have a Birds and Beyond program for K through 5th grade on Wednesday, June 18 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Get up close and personal with the habitats and various species of birds native to our area. This program is offered in partnership with Rydell Wildlife Refuge.

Scholarships
West Polk County Soil and Water Conservation District – Scholarship
The West Polk County Soil and Water Conservation District is offering a $1,000 college scholarship for a degree in Agricultural Science or Natural Resource Science. To be eligible, applicants must be West Polk County residents, attending high schools within West Polk County, and graduating in the spring of 2025. Twig and Branch Collection in Crookston
Twig and Branch Collection in Crookston is on the second and fourth Mondays of each month through October. Branches must be cut into four-foot lengths, bundled, and placed on the curb. Twigs may be in boxes or bags. Individuals removing their diseased elm trees should call City Hall to schedule a pickup. Leaves, grass, and other compostable material must be in the clear City of Crookston Bags, and they will be collected on your regular garbage collection day. Flu Shots Available at RiverView Health Clinics
Flu Shots are available now at RiverView Health at its Crookston, Fertile, and Red Lake Falls Clinics during regular business hours, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Appointments are required. Call the clinic of your choice to schedule your visit.

Every Tuesday (except for Federal Holidays), The Crookston Public Library will host New Born Baby Talk from 9:30 am. to 11:00 a.m. This is for parents with babies 0-12 weeks old. A public health nurse, parent educator, and lactation specialist will be available to answer questions about your newborn and provide support and information on your new journey of parenting.
