CAPITOL UPDATE FROM REPRESENTATIVE DEB KIEL

Dear Neighbor,

As summer winds down and parents, teachers, and students start gearing up for school, I hope everyone heading back to school gets a chance to enjoy the last days of summer with family and loved ones. I am proud to represent great schools where students, parents, and teachers work together for educational success and the futures of our students. Whether you’re going back to work or learn, I wish you the best of luck for a happy first day and a great school year.

Save Your Receipts!

I want to remind everyone to save your receipts! Minnesota has tax incentives that help lower the annual expense of school supplies. To get information on what qualifies, please visit the MN Department of Revenue’s website here.

High School Page Program

If you are a high school junior, or know one who may be interested, please check out the High School Page Program at the Minnesota House of Representatives. High School Pages have a great opportunity to learn about how state government works firsthand, participating in mock committee hearings, assisting members and staff during House floor sessions, and interacting with legislators, staff, lobbyists, and members of the press. Applications for the 2020 legislative session must be received by November 21, 2019.

Contact Me

It’s an honor and a privilege to work for you at the Capitol. Don’t hesitate to contact my office at any time to share your thoughts, concerns, or ideas. I am here to serve you!

Sincerely,

Deb
