CARE AND SHARE RECEIVES MOUNT ST. BENEDICT FOUNDATION GRANT

The Mount Saint Benedict Foundation has awarded a grant to the Care and Share Center in Crookston to help purchase a new phone system.

The Sisters of Saint Benedict have been supportive of Care and Share in the past and made them aware of an opportunity for another grant request.

Care and Share had an antiquated phone system that was dropping calls, unable to leave messages, the caller ID didn’t work, and had a limited number of phones.

The Care and Share was awarded a grant of $12,980.00 to replace their phone system from Reliance Telephone and Security.  The new system has an auto attendant function that allows calls to be directed to the appropriate staff person, where messages can be left. “We have added extensions in the food shelf, soup kitchen, and donation room,” said Care and Share board member Tom Anderson. “Often staff needs to leave their workstation and the two portable phones allow them to do so and still be available to take calls. The system allows staff to be more efficient in providing more and better services.”

Care and Share shares a long history with the Sisters of Saint Benedict, going back to its founder, Sister Justina Violette.
