Carlos Hernandez Lopez, 69, of Crookston, MN, passed away at his residence early Sunday morning, March 6, 2022.
Carlos was born on February 18, 1953, in El Salvador where he spent his early years. At the age of 13, he moved to Mexico to find work. In March of 1988 Carlos immigrated to Texas and after several years there settled in Crookston. Carlos became a very valued employee to farmers near Buxton, ND and for many years found winter employment with the American Crystal Sugar Company in Crookston. His favorite pastime away from work was going fishing.
He had no family in the area but a sister is currently living in the United States. Carlos leaves several close friends.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Carlos Hernandez Lopez will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston, MN with The Rev. Joe Richards, presiding. Visitation with friends will begin at 5:00 pm, Tuesday at the Cathedral with a prayer service at 6:30 pm. Visitation will continue at the church for one hour prior to the Mass.
