Carol Mae Marcotte – OBIT

Carol Mae Marcotte, Red Lake Falls, MN, age 77 passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2026 at her home surrounded by family under the care of hospice.

Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN with Father Bob Schreiner presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls, MN.
Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Red Lake Falls, MN.

Carol Mae Marcotte was born December 17, 1948, in Crookston, MN. Daughter of Gerard and Marie (LaPlante) Gervais. She was baptized in Gentilly, MN, and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in RLF. Carol attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School through eighth grade and then graduated from Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls, class of 1966.

Carol married LeRoy Marcotte on August 24, 1968 at St. Joseph’s Church in Red Lake Falls, MN. Carol took great joy in being a stay at home mother for their 3 children, Cynthia, Glen, and Joe.

Carol enjoyed golfing, going to garage sales, cooking, summers at Rocky Point on Lake of the Woods, family time at the Marcotte hunting shack near Grygla, MN and going South for the winters. Most of all she loved going to as many of her grandkids’ activities as she could!

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 57 years  LeRoy, and children: Cynthia (Dennis) Suess of Saginaw, MN; Glen (Melissa) of International Falls, MN; and Joe (Angie) of Warren, MN; Grandchildren: Alex (Bailey) Marcotte,  Brant (Natasha) Marcotte, Macey (special friend Cole Buley) Marcotte, Max Marcotte, Tanner Marcotte,  Jaceil (Ryan) Carraux, James (Bridget) Suess;  great grandchildren: Walker and Beau Marcotte,  Tiernan, Ronan, Gwen Suess; Elliahna and Hendrix Carraux; Sisters Emma Kees, Arlene Dockter; brother Richard (Kitty) Gervais; sisters in-law June (Joe) Miller and Marilyn Franklin; brother in-law Duane Marcotte, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, brothers-in-law Willard Marcotte and Ronnie Kees.
