The Polk County Sheriff’s Office announced the addition of a new K9 team last week. The duo is Deputy Ben Stout and two-and-a-half-year-old K9 partner Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix Rex. An aerial mosquito control application in the Fertile area, including the City of Fertile, Ridgewood Estates, and 105th Ave SW, on Tuesday, July 6 between 7-11:00 p.m., weather permitting Should the spray be rescheduled, it would then take place the following evening. These applications have been approved by the FAA and the appropriate state departments.
