The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting 1,949 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, 350 probable cases from antigen testing, and six deaths. The confirmed cases are the result of 45,115 completed tests for a positive rate of 4.3 percent. On April 15, 2021, at approximately 8:49 p.m., officers with the Grand Forks Police Department were at the Ambassador Motel for an unrelated call for service. While there, officers observed a vehicle strike an unoccupied Grand Forks Police Department squad car and then flee the scene. Officers pursued the suspect vehicle with emergency equipment activated.
Students at Our Savior’s Lutheran School wore purple on Thursday to show support for military kids Thursday. Thursday was “Purple UP for Military Kids Day” which took on a more special meaning this year with local soldiers deploying on a year-long mission overseas.
