The Polk County Sheriff’s Office recently assisted the Polk County Highway Department with placing a brand new fishing pier near the east shore Maple Lake public access, and a second pier near the Polk County roadside park on Maple Lake. After the pier’s were placed, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office also placed several swimming area
On Saturday, May 1, the Polk County Sheriff’s along with the Crookston Fire Department were dispatched to Section 14 of Russia Township. The Sheriff’s Office and Crookston Fire Department arrived on scene and noticed that a grass field and woods were on fire and out of control. The fire was able to be put out.
The approaching fishing season comes with a reminder from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to always follow state laws to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species.
