Eighteen individuals were recognized by Minnesota Toward Zero Deaths at the statewide TZD conference Thursday, Oct. 23, for their innovative efforts to reduce the number of traffic deaths and injuries in the state. The Crookston Leo Club along with their advisor Linda Morgan and School Resource Officer Don Rasicot spent Halloween trick or treating for canned goods for the Care & Share. Thanks to the generous support of the Crookston Community they collected approximately 1,800 pounds of food.
The Northwest Regional Corrections Center announced the arrests of the following individuals: Micah Terrel Hollowell, 28 of Grand Forks, for misdemeanor obstructing the legal process for interfering with a peace officer. Released on personal recognizance. Matthew Ray King, 28, of Crookston, for misdemeanor domestic assault.
The Manufacturing Week Tours hosted by the Crookston Chamber and Crookston Housing and Economic Development Authority visited one of Crookston’s largest employers, New Flyer of America. Crookston is one of two bus manufacturing locations in Minnesota, the other being in St. Cloud. According to Kenneth Brejcha, the Crookston facility is currently building 18 buses
