The Cass Lake-Bena Panthers outscored the Fertile-Beltram Falcon’s Girls Basketball team 8-3 in double overtime to win a Section 8A semi-final game (East Sub-section championship game) 65-60 at the Ralph Englestad Arena in Thief River Falls. The Warren-Alvarado-Oslo Ponies Girl’s Basketball team continued their Section 8A run on Monday night, defeating the Goodridge-Grygla Chargers 55-43 to win the West Sub-Section Championship. The Crookston 12U B team finished second place at the West Region tournament this weekend in Monticello and advanced to the state tournament. Crookston beat Brainerd/Little Falls in the first round 6-2. Crookston beat North Wright County Red 6-5 in the second round. In the third round (winner is champion), Alexandria beat Crookston 5-1.
