UMC SOCCER SHUTOUT BY AUGUSTANA

(Story from UMC Athletics) CROOKSTON, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston women’s soccer team worked hard against the NSIC’s top team coming into Friday, but ultimately fell 3-0 to Augustana University. The Golden Eagles created scoring opportunities with three shots on goal and six shots, and also had several opportunities that didn’t end with shots.

BOROWICZ AND TIEDEMANN LOSE TWO MATCHES AT STATE TENNIS TO END THE SEASON

Crookston’s Emma Borowicz and Catherine Tiedemann lost both of their matches at the Minnesota State Girls Tennis Individual tournament held at Reed Sweatt Tennis Center in Minneapolis.   FIRST ROUND – The Pirates had a slow start and that hurt them in a 6-0, 7-5 loss to Danielle Thorfinnson-Alissa Thorfinnson (Minnewaska) in the first round

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – Catherine Tiedemann and Emma Borowicz

The KROX Athletes of the Week are the state-bound Crookston Pirate Girls Tennis doubles teams of Catherine Tiedemann and Emma Borowicz.  The junior duo will be making their second straight trip to the state tournament after they finished second place in the Section 8A Individual Tennis doubles tournament in Fargo.  Catherine and Emma beat Hannah
