The Grand Forks Public Health Department released the following statement yesterday after the CDC’s announcement that every child age 5 years and older should get the COVID-19 Vaccine. The statement can be found down below –
Widespread vaccination for COVID-19 is a critical tool to best protect everyone, especially those at the highest risk, from severe illness and death. People who are fully vaccinated can safely resume many activities that they did prior to the pandemic. Children ages 5 years and older are now able to get an age-appropriate dose of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine.
Children ages 5-11 will be seen on a first-come, first serve basis until further notice. We will open vaccination for ages 5-11 on November 4, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Grand Cities Mall location. Vaccinations for adults 12 and older will continue as normal, including boosters.
GFPH is currently operating a COVID-19 vaccination clinic site in the Grand Cities Mall. The clinic is located in the former Christian Bookshelf location, between Ace Hardware and Play It Again Sports.
