CHARGES POSSIBLE IN REPORTED ASSAULT AT CROOKSTON CARE AND SHARE

On Sunday, February 10 at approximately 10:50 a.m. the Crookston Police Department was dispatched to the Care and Share at 220 Third Street on a report of an assault. Upon arrival officers made contact with the victim; Dana Andrew Decoteau, 52 of Crookston. He stated he was assaulted by another resident; later identified as Dennis Mark Jarvis III, 19. Jarvis left the area. Decoteau was transported to RiverView Hospital with minor injuries.

Police were eventually able to make contact with Jarvis. A charge of 5th Degree Assault is possible, no arrests have been made. This was an isolated incident; the individuals involved knew each other. There is no public safety concern and the investigation is active.
