CHRONIC WASTING DISEASE SAMPLING FOR ARCHERY HUNTERS

Archery season begins Saturday, September 14, and hunters in a CWD zone are reminded to keep the carcass within the zone until a not-detected test is reported.

To meet mandatory chronic wasting disease sampling requirements, self-service sampling stations are available for bowhunters in CWD management zones, in southeast and north central Minnesota. Archery hunters must provide the head of all adult deer at one of the sampling stations.

Hunters who wish to mount their deer may work with a participating taxidermist, listed on the DNR’s website, to have their deer sampled.

Find more information, including sampling station locations, on the southeast management zone and north central management zone pages.
