CHS ENVIROTHON TEAM FINISHES 21ST AT STATE COMPETITION

The Crookston High School Envirothon team competed at the state competition at the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center in Fergus Falls on Monday. 

The Crookston team consisting of Maddie Harbott, Katelyn Christensen, Joslyn Wallace, Tessa Weber, and Brianna Colborn, scored 102.5 points which was good for 21st place. “It was a great day to be outside and competing at the PWLC,” said Coach Wes Hanson. “I’m very proud of this wonderful group of students! They had a fun day working as a team.”

REGIONAL COMPETITION-
The annual Area 1 Northwest Regional Envirothon event was held Wednesday at Rydell Refuge near Erskine. Crookston High School had four teams competing in the event.
The top three teams qualified for the state tournament being held May 15 at the Prairie Wetlands Learning Center near Fergus Falls, MN. Waubun had two teams qualify, placing first and second, scoring 106 and 96.
Crookston had a team advance to state with a 3rd place finish scoring 96 points, Members of the state qualifying team include Tessa Weber, Katelyn Christensen, Brianna Colborn, Maddie Harbott, Joslyn Wallace, and advisor Wes Hanson. “I am very proud of their efforts,” said Coach Hanson. “It’s a great opportunity for CHS students to take part in.”
