CHS MUSIC DEPARTMENT TO PRESENT 9TH ANNUAL “ALL BANDS ON DECK” CONCERT

The Crookston High School Music Department will present the 9th annual “All Bands on Deck” concert on Monday, February 26, in the CHS auditorium starting at 7:00 p.m. The concert will feature each Crookston Public School band (5th grade to 12th grade).

This event began in 2014 due to the lack of concert opportunities during the winter months and giving students ages 10-18 a chance to perform with each other. “There were never concerts during the winter season,” said CHS band instructor Adrianne Winger, “We always have a spring (concert); but for elementary, there was nothing for them either during this time.”

After each grade level (excluding 5th grade) completes their set, all band students will play together to finish the concert by performing music from the famous Harry Potter movie series.

The doors will be open at 6:45, and this event is free to attend. Winger explained that everyone in the community and surrounding areas is encouraged to attend. “Please come,” said Winger, “Bring your family, bring your friends, and if you’re from a surrounding community, it is a great experience for people interested in joining the band. Or if you have a small band from another town, this is a great opportunity to give out extra credit points.”

Concert programs will be limited. If you decide to attend, you can find Adrianne after the show, and she can issue electronic copies if needed. Click on the picture below to view the program.
