Crookston City Council will meet on at 5:30 tonight (Monday, May 19) at the Crookston City Hall Council Chambers.
The meeting will start out with a Mayoral Proclamation declaring May 2025 Community Action Month in recognition of the hard work and dedication of the Tri-Valley Opportunity Council, Inc., as well as all Minnesota Community Action agencies. There will also be a presentation given by Three Rivers Housing regarding 102 North Broadway reuse analysis.
The consent agenda contains approval of the proposed City Council Minutes from May 5, 2025, approval of City of Crookston Bills and Disbursement for $600,735.84, approval of the license renewals for 2025 Cement Mason for Palmer Masonry and Concrete, and the acceptance of a donation for the Crookston Sports Center in the amount of $53,739.75 from The Crookston Area Community Fund for new turf at the Crookston Sports Center.
There is a public hearing on “Regulations of Cannabis Businesses” in the City of Crookston. Residents will have an opportunity to express any opinions or concerns they may have on the subject.
The regular agenda includes the approval of the non-commercial hangar lot lease for RZS Enterprises, Inc. at the Crookston Municipal Airport, approval of Total Lawn Care and Landscaping, an independent contractor, to take care of Crookston’s nuisance mowing., and the approval of Parks and Recreation to repair the cooling tower at the Crookston Sports Center.
There will be a Ways and Means Committee Meeting immediately following City Council adjournment. The agenda for Ways & Means is to interview for the Council Member at Large position that was left vacant by the resignation of Tim Menard. There are eight candidates that will be interviewing. Rennae Ramsey, Brandon Lee, Gina Corneillie, Josheph Shostell, James Hobbs, Bishop Jensen, Wendy Ault and Matt Rosu.
