The Climax-Fisher Knights Boys Basketball team were controlled start-to-finish by the Goodridge-Grygla Chargers, and fell by a score of 70-33 in Goodridge in the Section 8A Tournament play-in round.
FIRST HALF
Goodridge-Grygla looked to get off to a solid start, and they did so, as they went on a 9-2 run to start the game. The Knights had an answer, though, as back-to-back three-pointers from Branson Solheim and Tyler Evitts cut the lead down to 9-8 with 11:54 to go. Unfortunately for the Knights, they would only score 4 more points in the remainder of the half. The Chargers began to dominate in all aspects of the game; causing 12 turnovers on defense and making nearly every shot on offense. The Knights got layups from Evitts and Jaycer Davis, but the Chargers were simply overwhelming. They scored 15 bench points and were perfect from the foul line, and this all led to a 29-4 run to end the half, giving the Chargers a 38-12 lead at the break.
SECOND HALF
Climax-Fisher ends the year with a 9-18 record and say goodbye to seniors Ty Torrence and Branson Solheim. Goodridge-Grygla improves to 14-13 omn the year and will take on Red Lake County on Thursday.
