CORRINA DOYEA HIRED AS THE NEW MANAGER AT THE GOLDEN LINK SENIOR CENTER

The Golden Link Board of Directors President Rand Hughes announced the hiring of Corrina Doyea as the new manager of the Golden Link, the formation of new committees, and three newly elected board members on Thursday. “We have the first announcement that we’ve hired Corrina Doyea as our new manager,” said Hughes.  “Also, we have three new board members, Henry (Hank) Koza, Elaine Metzger, and Commissioner Gary Willhite.  We have four new committees created to make the Link more efficient.  We have Grant Writing, and the chair is Hank Koza, we have Liaison, and the chair is Gary Willhite.  We have a Trip Committee and Gaye Wick chairs that, and a Decorating Committee chaired by Elaine Metzger.”

Doyea said she comes to the Golden Link with a background in food service and a desire to use that experience in more of an administrative role.  “I have a background mainly in restaurants,” said Doyea.  “So, when they said they had food here, I said I’ll definitely be able to help with that.  I’ve always wanted to do more administrative work with my background on computers.  And I worked at U.S. Foods Customer Service, so I thought I’d be able to help the board achieve all their goals.”

The goal of the Golden Link is to support seniors in the community and to provide a friendly environment for socializing as an essential step to quality of life and building self-worth for the seniors who likely played an important role in building the community.

There are 12 Board members and near 20 committees currently. Although you need to be 55 years old to be a member and must be a member to take the many offered trips (this year, their big trip is to Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico). Anyone can enjoy a noon meal at the Golden Link for $6. The Golden Link would like for you to think of them as a place for your club or committee meetings – the coffee is always on, and they remind you they make great cookies.
