COVID TESTING EVENT IN CROOKSTON TESTS 265 ON DAY ONE

The first day of “no-barrier” COVID-19 testing was held at the Crookston Sports Center Tuesday. Amanda Frie, site coordinator for the state’s testing effort said they tested about half as many people as they can handle in a day. “We had over 265 people tested,” said Frie. “Lots of people coming in even with the snow and the weather. We’re looking forward to continuing testing tomorrow and Thursday from noon to 6 p.m.”

Frie said they’ll accept appointments or walk-ins for testing. “We have appointments folks can make using the primary bio registration link,” said Frie. “It’s a super easy, simple process for them. And we have plenty of room for walkups, so if people want to show up tomorrow or Thursday anytime between noon-6 p.m. they’re welcome to do that. We’ll get you in and out of here in less than 10 minutes.”

Testing uses a light nasal swap and results will come back a couple of days after testing according to Frie. “Test results take on average 36-72 hours,” said Frie. “If you are negative for COVID you’ll get a text message and an email. If you are positive, you’ll get a phone call and resources with your local Public Health for you to have available.”
