The Crookston Police Department (CPD) public vehicle auction is underway and will run all the way into next week. The CPD announced that the auction will take place from June 16 through the 25.
The vehicles are being sold online through the state of Minnesota online auction website MINNBID.ORG. All vehicles are located at 27032 273rd Street SW, Crookston, or one block west and one block north of Ampride.
Lieutenant Darin Selzer of the Crookston Police Department said the auction will have 15 different vehicles to bid on. “We declared 15 city vehicles surplus property. The vehicles we obtained were all city-owned vehicles besides one or two” said Selzer. He also says that there is a good variety of nice vehicles to choose from. “These vehicles are a random selection but there is a real good mix. There are several passenger cars, a couple of SUV’s and a couple of pickups. For the most part all these vehicles are clean”.
The auction runs through the 25th, and all the information for each vehicle is posted online. “What you need to do is log on to MINNBID.ORG and create a user account, and at that point, you can click on each vehicle to view pictures and in-depth descriptions and start bidding at will until the end of the week”. Selzer says that the end of the auction is when bidders will need to pay more attention to the vehicles they have bid on. “Starting at 10 A.M. Friday morning the 25th the auction will slowly start to close with each vehicle so if you’re a winning bidder you’ll want to keep a close eye on that”.
