Crookston Ambassadors visit with and congratulate Bremer President and Crookston native Joe Helgeson

The Crookston Ambassadors were out and about again this week to honor and congratulate two businesses. The first stop was celebrating Bremer and Crookston native Joe Helgeson, who was recently named Market President.

Joe left his hometown of Crookston in 2002 and spent the last 15 years in Montevideo, MN. His career took him to Klein Bank, which was later acquired by Old National Bank. From there, Joe accepted and served as a Senior District Manager at Minnwest Bank in Montevideo. The opportunity arose for Joe at Bremer Bank in Crookston, and he started his current role in May 2024.

Bremer has worked diligently these past few months to become fully staffed and has hired great local people who started their careers at Bremer and continue to thrive. They are committed to having a strong presence in the community and strive to be your local hometown bank. Looking ahead, they are embracing the opportunity to be part of the Old National Bank, which comes with additional services and enhanced resources.

As this transition progresses, you can bank on seeing the same friendly faces that you see today. Joe states, “It’s been great to get back into the community, and I love it so far. We are really building a great team here. As we develop and grow, we will have more opportunities to offer, which we feel fortunate about.”

Pictured here to congratulate and celebrate Joe and Bremer Bank, left to right, are Randy Schoenborn (RiverView Health), Sherry Coauette (LeBlanc Realty), Lindsey Erdman (Benedictine Living Community in Crookston), Becky Kofoed (Sunrich Products), Helgeson, Carrie Bergquist (community volunteer), Tracy Kuchan (LeBlanc Realty), Bobbie Torkelson (H&R Block), and Keenan Devier (City of Crookston).

If you want to join our Ambassador Team or share an event, please call or text Carrie Bergquist at 218-289-1823. Activities and responsibilities include gathering to recognize, honor, and congratulate innovative businesses in Crookston.
