CROOKSTON AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE HOLDS NIGHT OF STARS AWARDS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN TWO YEARS

The Crookston Area Chamber of Commerce held its Chamber Celebration in person for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic to celebrate local businesses with its “Night of Stars” event at the Crookston Eagles.

Representatives from various local businesses came to enjoy a social hour full of appetizers, enter raffles and a silent auction, and take fun pictures at a Red Carpet Photo Booth. When everyone was settled in, Chamber Executive Director Mark Landa first commenced the graduation ceremony of its Leadership Crookston Class by giving them Certificates of Completion for completing the 16-week course. Next, the Chamber began handing out the awards ceremonies to representatives of businesses and individuals. The award winners were:

  • Entrepreneur of the Year: Shirley Iverson of the Downtown Crookston Development Partnership
  • Small Business of the Year: The Golden Link Senior Center
  • Large Business of the Year: American Crystal Sugar
  • Lifetime Achievement Award: Benedictine Living Community-Crookston
  • Chamber Champion Award: Brook Novak
  • Volunteer(s) of the Year: Darin Selzler, Tim Froeber, Brandon Carlson, and Charles “Corky” Reynolds for their service during the Red Lake River flooding in the spring

After the award ceremony ended, the Chamber announced the winners of their raffles and silent auction before welcoming comedian Jessi Campbell to perform a comedy show.
