The Crookston Area Community Fund (CACF) gifted eight local groups funds totaling $24,955 during its fall grant round. Those who received grants include Scruffy Tails Humane Society, Care and Share of Crookston, Polk County DAC, Crookston Pickleball Club, Don’t Call Me Josephine, Golden Link Senior Center, Crookston Housing and Economic Development Authority/Oak Court Apartments, and Polk County Social Services Family Resource Center.
Projects under those organizations that were funded include supplies and equipment for a new space for families, food freezer repairs, converting a garage to classrooms, enhancement of Schuster Park pickleball courts, cultural reflection circles, and more. CACF also approved a grant to Scruffy Tails to replenish their dog and cat food pantry.
“The CACF issued the fall round of grants to community organizations that strengthen our town by weaving a fabric of support for Crookston residents,” said Shirley Iverson, CACF board chair. “These organizations ensure that some of our most vulnerable have what they need to thrive.”
