Crookston Blue Line Club Youth Hockey Update – December 12

The Crookston Blue Line Club has released the weekly youth hockey update and players of the week.  The update is listed below –

Mites
On Sunday the Mite 3 had their first game of the year. We combined the mite blue and mite white for this week because we were a few kids short. We traveled all the way up to Baudette. The kids were raring to go after the long car ride and played an incredible first game with a 6-2 win. Colin Trudeau was in net and made some incredible saves. It was fun to watch the kids start the year with a win. Scoring was Rowan Benoit, Noah Chandler (2), Bladen Melsa, Braxton Miller, and Caden Perry.
We played a second game after the ice was resurfaced and played a tougher 2nd-year team. Overall the kids played well, Caden Perry scored the lone goal and Colin Trudeau had a lot more shots to block but was up to the challenge. Even though we took a 4-1 loss, Colin kept the game close which kept spirits alive on the bench.
Player of the Week – Colin Trudeau, great job on all the incredible saves.

Squirt A
Crookston Squirt A opened the weekend at home against Devils Lake on Saturday with a loss of 6-0. Sunday they traveled to Detroit Lakes. The boys worked hard and came away with a 6-3 win.
Our player of the week is Garrett Fischer. Garrett works hard every game and showed determination during our toughest loss of the season playing hard right to the end.

Their second game on Saturday was a tough loss against Williston of 0-10. Logan Brekken saved 15/25 shots on goal. The girls won their game on Sunday, due to forfeiture by the opposing team, due to scheduling conflicts. They took 3rd place on the weekend, and enjoyed their time on and off the ice!
This coming weekend, they play in Crookston! Saturday at 10:30 they take on the Bemidji 10UA team and at 3:45 they take on Fergus Falls. Sunday they take on Detroit Lakes at noon.

Morgan is a leader on and off the ice to the first year players.
