On the ensuing possession, Crookston missed a shot and grabbed two offensive rebounds and tried another shot and missed and grabbed two more rebounds before they got the ball to Smith who made a three-pointer to give the Pirates a 61-57 lead with 2:15 left. Crookston brought the ball up the floor and it looked like they were going to have a layup, but the official blew his whistle thinking Crookston wanted a timeout, but Coach Bruce Erdmann never called for one and the officials admitted it was an inadvertant whistle costing the Pirates a chance at the layup. The officials put six seconds on the clock and the Pirates inbounded in the front court and took a three-pointer with four seconds left and missed the shot. The ball went out of bounds as the buzzer sounded and the game was over with Roseau winning 62-61.
Crookston had 19 turnovers in the game and continued the struggle of making layups throughout the game.

Crookston drops to 1-14 on the year and will host Fosston on Monday. Roseau improves to 4-13 on the year.
