CROOKSTON BOYS TENNIS FALLS TO MINNEWASKA AREA, DEFEATS PERHAM

The Crookston Pirate Boys Tennis team fell to the Minnewaska Area Lakers 5-2 but bounced back to beat the Perham Yellow Jackets 5-2 in a triangular in Glenwood.

CROOKSTON VS MINNEWASKA AREA-
Isaac Thomforde continues his outstanding start to the season at first singles with a dominating 6-0, 6-1 victory. At second singles, Reggie Winjum lost the first set, won the second set 6-3, but lost 10-6 in the third set tie-breaker. Sam Widseth and Alex Zammert lost their third and fourth singles matches, respectively by 6-0, 6-0 scores.
In doubles, the top pairing of Grant Funk and Jack Everett for the Pirates won 6-0, 6-1. Caden Boike and Gunnar Groven fell as the second doubles pairing, 6-3, 6-0. The third doubles pairing of Colton Osborn and Tim Brule fell 6-3, 6-2. The Pirates fell to Minnewaska Area 5-2. 

CROOKSTON VS PERHAM-
Isaac Thomforde continued to roll as he dominated the first singles match with a 6-1, 6-1 victory. At second singles, Reggie Winjum bounced back with a 6-2, 6-2 win for the Pirates. At third singles, Sam Widseth fell battled, but came up short in a 6-4, 6-2 loss, and Alex Zammert came up short at fourth singles in a 6-2, 6-2 loss. The Pirates swept the three doubles matches. At first doubles, Grant Funk and Jack Everett won the first set 6-2 before winning a hard-fought second set 7-6. Caden Boike and Gunnar Groven won their second doubles match with ease in a 6-0, 6-1 victory. At third doubles, Colton Osborn and Tim Brule played well and dominated in a 6-1, 6-0  victory to solidify the 5-2 team wiover Perham. 

Crookston is now 3-2 on the year and 3-1 in Section 8A play.
