CROOKSTON CITY COUNCIL APPOINTS STAINBROOK AS MAYOR AND WELCOMES KLATT TO THE COUNCIL

The Crookston City Council met on Monday night and appointed Dale Stainbrook as Mayor and swore in Dylane Klatt as City Councilman for Ward 6.

Dylane Klatt was sworn in as the councilmember for Ward 6 and said he wants to work with everybody on the council. “I just want to try to work together with everybody on the council,” said Klatt.  “Listen to everything they have to say and move forward.”

Dale Stainbrook also appointed as Mayor and will be sworn in at the February 24 meeting.  Stainbrook said he appreciated the council placing their confidence in him. “I’d like to thank the council for supporting me through this process,” said Stainbrook.  “I’m glad that it’s over.  I felt like I was on each side of the fence.  I can’t represent my ward and be Mayor at the same time.  I appreciate the council for having the confidence in me to put me in the Mayor’s chair, and I’ll do my very best to represent Crookston.”

There was also a mayoral proclamation during the meeting proclaiming Thursday, February 13, as “Giving Hearts Day.”

All remaining items are on the consent agenda including approving the January 27 meeting minutes, approving City of Crookston bills and disbursements totaling $200,282.12, awarding a bid for an upgrade to LED lights at the Crookston Sports Center, and calling for public hearings for the street vacation and developer’s agreements with the Nature View Estates Plat 5 project.
