CROOKSTON CITY COUNCIL APPROVES LAND OPTION AGREEMENT WITH EPITOME ENERGY

Crookston City Council

The Crookston City Council met on Monday night and approved a land option agreement with Epitome Energy.  Interim City Administrator Angel Weasner said she has not heard whether Dennis Egan, CEO of Epitome Energy, had reviewed accepted the land option agreement but that the council’s act to approve it means it can be signed if he doesn’t request any changes. “If there are no changes on Mr. Egan’s side, he can come in and sign the agreement, and then we’ll have the mayor sign it. At this time, it’s just approved by council with a resolution. Once I hear something more, I can finalize some stuff.”

The council also passed a resolution to submit the application for funding of $800,000 for the Intermediary Relending Program (IRP), which are used to support the needs of small businesses in the form of gap financing in the City of Crookston.  The Council had previously approved requesting the additional funds according to Weasner and were completing their process by approving the application. “Last year, the council had approved us applying for an additional $800,000 loan from the USDA for IRP funds. Now, I have the application and all of the paperwork necessary and we need a resolution of support to along with that packet. So, this was the final step in order for the application to be submitted for approval.”

Crookston Mayor Dale Stainbrook also issued two Mayoral Proclamations.  The first was declaring May 10-16 as “National Skilled Nursing Care Week.” The second was to declare May as “Community Action Month” on behalf of Tri-Valley Opportunity Council.  The Council also approved the minutes from their April 27 meeting and approved bills and disbursements totaling $335,597.45 as part of its consent agenda.
