Crookston City Council will meet on Monday, June 16, at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall in the Council Chambers.
There are two presentations on the Agenda. The first is on the Position Classification and Compensation Study with ABDO and then there will be a MnDOT Project team to give a brief project update on the Trunk Highway 2 downtown sidewalk replacement.
Consent agenda
The Consent Agenda includes the approval of Special City Council meeting minutes from May 27 and June 2, and the regular City Council meeting minutes from June 2. Also up for approval are the City of Crookston Bills and Disbursements for $415,699.31, the approval of repairs at the Crookston Community Pool for $10,170.00 as discussed at the June 2 meeting as well as the acceptance of a donation from Fin & Fit for the Crookston Community Pool of $10,500.00 to cover the repairs. The council will be asked to approve the sale of Fireworks at Walmart in the City Limits of Crookston for 2025 and to approve the appointment of Dale Stainbrook to the CHEDA board to fill the open spot left when Tim Menard resigned his position with CHEDA.
Regular Agenda
The Regular Agenda includes asking for approval for AE25 Task Order No. 18 for Stormwater Resilience and Master Plan and awarding of the project. This has to do with a project consisting of the lift station 5 sanitary force main replacement. Bids were received for the project by Advanced Engineering and Environmental Services, LLC, and they are recommending Spruce Valley Corporation for the project at a cost of $145,295.00. This item has been budgeted for.
The next item is seeking authorization for the City of Crookston to enter into an agreement with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency with respect to the Stormwater Resilience and Master Plan. The total estimated cost for this project is $239,390.00, which includes the cost with AE25, Crookston’s In-Kind Contribution, and City Match. The project is possible with the successful application for a MN Small Communities Grant. The city’s In-Kind Contribution consists of labor and community outreach materials ($18,500) and a City Capital Local Match of $11,044.50.
The council will be asked to approve a request from the Parks & Rec Department for an RFP regarding a Pool Feasibility Study for the City of Crookston. During the recent Park Board meeting, it was discussed that this step is crucial in finding out more about the viability of the current pool facility.
The council will also be asked to authorize retaining an attorney to assist the City of Crookston in evaluating an employment-related complaint. Last for Monday’s meeting is a resolution regarding the appointment from the previous candidate pool to fill the vacant At-Large Council Member Seat.
