CROOKSTON CITY COUNCIL AND WAYS AND MEANS TO MEET MONDAY

Crookston City Council

The Crookston City Council will meet Monday, September 14 at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at city hall. There will be a public meeting for comments for a potential mixed-use building. There will also be a resolution adopting the proposed 2021 tax levy of $2,323,872 and the preliminary general fund budget of $5,954,261, as well as setting the public budget meeting date for December 14 at 6:30 p.m.

The consent agenda includes approving the City Council minutes from August 13 and 24, approving bills and disbursements of $503,933.84, and a resolution for a partial payment of $391,075.03 to Sellin Brothers, Inc. for 2020 Street Improvement projects.

CROOKSTON WAYS AND MEANS COMMITTEE MEETING

The City of Crookston Ways & Means Committee will meet Monday night immediately after the City Council meeting. The committee will hear from APG Development and review a previously tabled tax abatement request. The committee will also review the cash farm lease for the Colborn property to set the term of the next lease and review the public comments from the council meeting regarding the mixed-use building.

Mayor Dale Stainbrook will also present the recommendations for the Crookston Visitor’s Bureau Board. They include voting members Laurie Stahlecker (Crookston Inn), Cory Dallager (AmericInn), Brent Melsa (Drafts Sports Bar & Grill), Brooke Panzer (Happy Joe’s Pizza & Ice Cream), and Dean Adams (Crookston True Value). Non-voting, ex-officio members include Kristy Swanson (Blue Line Club), Nate Lubarski (Crookston Youth Basketball Association), Greg Garmen (Crookston High School), Bob Magsam (Crookston Rotary Club), Nell DeBoer (UMC), Jess Bengston (Downtown Crookston Development Partnership), Lisa Tadd (Cobblestone Inn & Suites), and a member to be determined from the Golf Terrace Motel.
