CROOKSTON CITY COUNCIL TO MEET MONDAY NIGHT

Crookston City Council

The Crookston City Council will meet Monday, December 28 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, seating will be limited, so if members of the public would prefer to participate by phone, they may call 281-4515 and speak during the public forum. The doors to City Hall will be unlocked at 6:30 p.m.

All the meeting items are on the consent agenda, including approving the December 14 meeting minutes, approving bills and disbursements of $235,821.86, and designating the 2021 precinct polling locations. Other resolutions include accepting a proposal to replace the rooftop furnace and air conditioning unit at the police station, authorizing bids for the sale of 110 Lincoln Ave, a transfer of $50,000 from reserves to the Building Better Business (B3) program administered by the Crookston Housing and Economic Development Authority (CHEDA), a TIF District payment of $15,676.88 to Crookston Townhomes Limited Partnership, a TIF District payment of $28,796.39 to Agassiz Townhomes Limited Partnership, accepting the Nature View Estates Natural Park Phase 1 as a public park, and approving the land use determination and sale of land to the Ag Innovation Campus.

The consent agenda’s final item is a resolution to approve a waiver of irregularity and appeal for unpaid lodging tax. The Crookston Inn’s lodging tax was unpaid by the former owner from January 1-October 31, 2019. The current owner, United Valley Bank, agrees to pay the unpaid tax totaling $16,208.87 by a special assessment over 10 years.

There will be no Ways & Means Committee meeting following the City Council meeting due to a lack of agenda items.
