The Crookston City Council will meet Monday, November 23 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. The Council will hold public hearings on the proposed assessments for three street improvement projects and for unpaid services with subsequent resolutions approving those assessments. Also included is a resolution in support of a mutual aid agreement for law enforcement assistance.
The consent agenda includes approving the November 9 meeting minutes, approving bills and disbursements totaling $218,197.81, amending the Council Committee Composition for 2020, approving monetary limits insurance, authorizing the disposal of property on the town square, accepting a donation to the Fire Department from Pearl Radi, and declaring the costs of assessments for 2020 street projects. There is also a resolution calling a public hearing on December 14 for unpaid lodging taxes and a resolution declaring a local emergency for COVID-19.
The Ways & Means Committee will immediately following the City Council meeting. The agenda includes a new furnace/air conditioning unit and hot water pumps for the Crookston Police Department. The appointment to the CHEDA Board of Craig Busness to fulfill the unexpired term created by the resignation of Craig Morgan. The committee will review an agreement between the City of Crookston and the Crookston Visitor’s Bureau (CVB) and review the board members from the CVB. Finally, the committee will discuss the 2021 tax levy and the five-year capital improvement plan.
