CROOKSTON CITY COUNCIL, WAYS & MEANS COMMITTEE TO MEET MONDAY

Crookston City Council

The Crookston City Council will meet Monday, December 14 at 6:30 p.m. for the Truth-in-Taxation hearing, which will be followed by a City Council meeting at 7 p.m., before concluding with a Ways & Means Committee meeting. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing guidelines, there will be limited seating available for meetings. The consent agenda includes approving the November 12 and 23 meeting minutes, approving bills and disbursements totaling $530,413.29, extending the City of Crookston’s Declaration of Emergency for COVID-19, approving the 2021 meeting schedule, approving liquor and tobacco licenses, approving fund transfers from the general fund to Water & Wastewater and to Street Improvement Construction, entering an agreement with the Crookston Visitor’s Bureau, accepting a donation to Kids First, and declaring and authorizing city staff to dispose of surplus property.

The regular agenda includes adopting the 2021 budget, adopting the tax levy for 2021 taxes, and adopting the five-year capital improvement plan for 2021-2025.

The Ways & Means Committee will meet immediately following the City Council meeting. The first item on the agenda is appointing City Administrator Amy Finch to the Polk County Affordable Housing Advisory Board to replace Interim City Administrator Angel Weasner.

The item on the agenda is a discussion on the guidelines for the Building Better Business (B3) program and a proposed allocation of $50,000 to continue the program. The final item will be a closed session for a labor negotiations discussion pursuant to the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, Statute 13D.03, Subd. 1(b).
