The Crookston City Council will meet Monday, February 8 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. There will be two presentations, years of service awards, and a presentation by the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) on the downtown corridor study this fall.
The consent agenda includes approving the January 25 meeting minutes, bills, and disbursements totaling $332,665.99, and 2021 licenses for gas fitting, garbage hauling, theaters, and other entertainment including video/dart machines, jukebox, pool table, arcade, and exhibition licenses. A resolution extending the local emergency due to COVID-19, accepting the AFSCME Labor contract agreement for 2020-2022 and accepting a donation to Kids First for $1000 from Gabe Amon.
Public hearings will be held on the proposed 2021 street improvements:
- Project 975: reconstruction of Stephens Drive from Hoven Lane to Radisson Road
- Project 976: reconstruction of Grant Street from North Front Street to Widman Lane
- Project 977: bituminous mill & overlay of North Front Street from Sixth Street to Sherman Street
- Project 978: bituminous mill & overlay of Riverside Avenue from Victoria Street to Summit Ave
- Project 979: bituminous mill & overlay of Elm Street from Fourth Street to Summit Avenue
- Project 980: bituminous mill & overlay of 4th Avenue North from North Broadway to Alexander Street
- Project 981: bituminous mill & overlay of Central Avenue from North Ash Street to Albert Street
- Project 982: bituminous mill & overlay of 7th Avenue South from South Main Street to Marshall Street
- Project 983: concrete mill and overlay of sidewalk and bridge deck on South Broadway from South Main Street to Houston Avenue
The regular agenda includes the second reading and final passage of Ordinance No. 85 amending the City Code Chapter 52.16 for Discharges of Unpolluted Drainage, and a resolution ordering the improvement for the 2021 street improvements.
The Ways & Means Committee has two discussion items – guidelines for the disposal of surplus property and the spending authority of the City Administrator.
