The Crookston Ways & Means Committee will have a special meeting Monday, December 23 at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room at City Hall. The committee will be discussing hiring a search firm, David Drown Associates at an estimated $22,000, to complete the search for the next Crookston City Administrator.
The Crookston City Council will meet at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. All items are on the consent agenda, including approving the City Council Minutes for the December 9 meeting and approving bills and disbursements totaling $293,304.21. Also included are resolutions to, appoint City of Crookston Finance Director Angel Weasner as Interim City Administrator, designate 2020 polling locations, approve TIF 3-4 payment to Crookston Townhomes Limited Partnership, approve a TIF 3-7 payment to Tri-Valley Opportunity Council, approve a TIF 3-10 payment to Agassiz Townhomes Limited Partnership, and to approve a transfer of funds for the Barrette Street Estates payback.
Two additional resolutions deal with licensing in the City. The first resolution is to approve license renewals for tobacco at Ampride, M&H, and Hugo’s. Taxi – Ampride, and garbage to Regional Sanitation Services, and Alternative Solutions. The second is to approve 2020 amusement licenses including video/dart machine, jukebox, pool table, arcade, and exhibition licenses for VFW Post 1902, Crookston Eagles, IC Muggs, Crooks Club, Happy Joe’s, Walmart, and Drafts Sports Bar & Grill. An additional agenda item for a resolution to hire the firm for the City Administrator search is possible pending the special Ways & Means meeting.
A regular Ways & Means Committee meeting will be held immediately following City Council. The agenda includes approving the December 9 meeting report. And discussing a distillery/brewpub ordinance amendment adding additional language and fees to the current ordinance.
