The Crookston City Council will meet Monday, August 24 at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at city hall. The Council will have two public hearings, one for Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) railroad to vacate 15.23 feet of West 5th Street and 2.33 feet of North Front Street, the second on parcels qualifying for the city’s Housing Incentive Program.
On the regular agenda, there are resolutions to approval BNSF’s street vacation and the Housing Incentive Program parcels. There is also a resolution to allow the Crookston Housing and Economic Development Authority to receive the lodging tax proceeds.
The consent agenda includes approving the August 10 meeting minutes, approving bills and disbursements for $198,205.64. Accepting donations to the Crookston Police Department, Crookston Youth Baseball, and Kids First. Approving the purchase of a rake and budget increase for the wastewater system, and a continuation of the additional salary for the Finance Director through the end of 2020.
There is also a resolution calling for a public hearing on a potential mixed-use building in downtown Crookston, an agreement for ice at the Crookston Sports Center with the Crookston Blue Line Club, and the approval of guidelines for business grants from the city’s CARES Act funds.
