CROOKSTON CITY COUNCIL WILL MEET ON MONDAY TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARINGS ON CITY WARD BOUNDAIRES

Crookston City Council

The Crookston City Council will meet on Monday night at 7:00 p.m. inside the City Hall Council Chambers.

The meeting will begin with three presentations. The first will be a proclamation by Mayor Dale Stainbrook making the Week of September 11-17 National Assisted Living Week. The second will be a presentation about the Highway 2 Corridor Study. The last will be a Systems Analysis of the Crookston Sports Center.

The Consent Agenda will include the approval of the City Council minutes from their meeting on August 22 and to approve the City of Crookston Bills and Disbursements in the amount of $374,874.33. It will also include approving the Crookston Housing & Economic Development Authority’s (CHEDA) Agendas for their meetings on September 13 and 26. The final items on the Agenda will be to approve a 2022 Tobacco License for CannaRHx, LLC DBA Canna Corners and a partial Payment Estimate No 2. For 2022 Street Improvements.

The Council will then hold a public meeting with respect to amending the City Code Chapter 11 entitled “Ward Boundaries,”

The Regular Agenda will include a second and final reading of an ordinance amending City Code Chapter 11 by changing section 11.01, “Ward Boundaries.” It will also include a resolution to approve changing order No. 1 for the 2022 Street Improvements and amending an ordinance of the City Code Chapter 111 entitled “Alcoholic Beverages,” and calling a public hearing on it. The Agenda will also include a resolution amending the American Rescue Plan Act Funds Proposal. The final items on the Agenda include a resolution approving the purchase of the property where the Red Barn is located on Central Square and will end with a discussion regarding the Old Armory Building.

The Crookston Ways & Means Committee will then meet after the City Council meeting to discuss the Preliminary Tax Levy and requested funds from the Golden Link Senior Center, Tri-Valley, Downtown Crookston Development Partnership, Small Business Development Centers, Scruffy Tails Humane Society, and Wellness in the Woods.

The next City Council meeting will take place on Monday, September 26, at 7:00 p.m. inside the City Hall Council Chambers.
