The Crookston City Council will meet on Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the City Hall council chambers.
The meeting will begin with public hearings regarding the street assessment on project 990, which pertains to the capital improvements and costs of the Alexander Street improvements. There will also be a public hearing regarding proposed assessments for unpaid water and sewer charges and for current services.
The regular agenda will include the declaration of a Slum and Blighted Area within the City of Crookston. It will also include the resolutions regarding authorization to submit a preliminary grant application to the Minnesota Department of Economic Development (DEED) for the Slum and Blighted areas in the city and the acceptance of the external auditor’s report for the city.
It will also include the resolutions regarding the engagement of Clifton Larson Allen, LLP, to perform specific accounting services recommended from the previous Ways and Means Committee meeting and a working agreement with the Crookston Fire Association for the years 2024-2026. The final item on the regular agenda will be a resolution regarding Crookston Fire Services outside city limits for Polk County.
The consent agenda will include the approval of city council minutes and special city council minutes from October 23 and October 30. It will also include the approval of bills and disbursements in the amount of $1,312,703.81.
The Crookston Ways and Means Committee will meet following the city council in the City Hall council chambers. The meeting will include a discussion about grants, followed by a 2024 budget discussion.
