The Crookston Community Pool is temporarily closed to the public after the filter pump failed last week. The pump moves all the water from the pool through the filters 24 hours a day. While the pool chemical levels can be kept balanced without the pump, the water needs to be pumped through the filters to keep up with usage.
The pump that broke is no longer manufactured but a replacement pump has been found. Any update to a new model pump would’ve taken 6-8 weeks to install because it would require an additional retrofit of the plumbing. The replacement pump should arrive and be installed this week.
The pool hopes to return to normal hours Thursday, August 15. Updates will be posted to the Crookston Community Pool Facebook page and www.crookstonpool.com.
