CROOKSTON FFA COMPETES IN REGIONA 1 FFA LDE DAY

On Wednesday, November 16, 2022, Crookston FFA had seven members travel to Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls to compete in the Minnesota FFA Region 1 LDEs (Leadership Development Events).

Jojo Wallace, Taylor Wieland, Addie Schiller, Ally Wagner, Brianna Colborn, and Hope Alexander competed as a team in the Parliamentary Procedure LDE. They had to individually take a test on Parliamentary knowledge and the proper way to keep minutes and records and present a timed meeting demonstration to showcase their competence in Parliamentary Procedure. They earned second place in Region 1 out of 8 teams and are advancing to the state competition in April. 

Three members participated in Speaking LDEs. Taylor Weiland and Hope Alexander competed in the Prepared Public Speaking LDE, where they had to present their speeches to judges. Taylor earned 5th place individually. Tessa Weber competed in the Extemporaneous Public Speaking LDE, where she drew a topic at random and had 30 minutes to prepare a speech. Tessa placed 8th individually in Region 1. 

All Crookston FFA members in attendance left with a well-deserved award.
