Crookston Emergency Manager and Fire Chief Tim Froeber said the Crookston Fire Department is preparing winter for the historic blizzard forecasted to begin tonight. “They are talking that we’re going to have a historic blizzard coming tonight through Thursday,” said Froeber. “We’re doing a little prep work in case we need to open any short term or long term shelters.”
The City of Crookston will work with the County and local businesses used as shelters and updates will be available on KROX says Froeber. “We will be working with the Polk County Emergency Operations Center that is located at the Sheriff’s Department,” said Froeber. “And also with some of our local businesses and facilities, we use as shelters. If we do need to open them up please listen to KROX and the City’s Facebook page for information on all of that.”
