CROOKSTON FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION’S HOSTS 27TH ANNUAL FUN NIGHT FUNDRAISER THIS SATURDAY

The Crookston Firefighters Association is hosting its 27th Annual Fun Night Fundraiser at the Crookston Eagles Club on Saturday, April 9, from 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. The event will contain a social from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., with dinner being served from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The night will be full of raffles and door prizes throughout the evening to anyone who bought raffle tickets beforehand. All proceeds go directly to the Crookston Firefighters Association.

The Fun Night’s raffles and door prizes will be drawn and given out throughout the night, giving out packs of beef such as burgers, steaks, roasts, and many other prizes. “We do have a whole beef that we’re raffling off, and we’re going to do that in four quarters throughout the night.” Crookston Firefighter Cole Ricard explained, “The Door Prizes will be posted on the walls, and the winners’ names will be written down and posted, so look for your names when you get there, then go back and pick up your door prizes. We have a bunch of Yeti Coolers with Tumblers that we’re going to have as packages. We’ve got a Traeger Grill from Scott’s True Value and multiple other raffles.” The night will also include a drawing of the $100 raffle tickets the public could buy from Crookston firefighters for an $8,000 Grand Prize, with 20 other chances for people to win $100 each. While the raffle tickets have been sold out, people can still buy Meal tickets to come and enjoy a delicious meal of prime rib or walleye with garlic mashed potatoes and veggie melody. “We still have more meal tickets, which are located at the firehouse, or you can contact one of the local firefighters, and we can get you lined up,” Ricard explained.

The night will also feature the local band, Silverado, who will play a variety of music from 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. While they have played in the Eagles Club before, this will be their first time playing for the Fundraiser event. And for those who stay for the whole event and potentially have too much to drink, the Firefighters have plans to make sure everyone gets home safely. “We have two gentlemen that will be like a taxi service.” Ricard explained, “They will take you and your vehicle home to prevent anyone from driving home drunk. If you need a ride, you just get a hold of a firefighter, and we will line it all up that night. That way, there’s no drinking and driving, and that’s what we want, and we can get you home safely.”

The Fun Night Fundraiser will begin on Saturday, April 9, at 5:00 p.m. at the Crookston Eagles Club. There will be a Social from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a prime rib or walleye dinner served from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Silverado will begin their show at 9:00 p.m. and will play to 1:00 a.m. Raffles and door prizes will be given out throughout the evening. All procedures will go directly to the Crookston Firefighters Association, which will use the funds for truck and gear replacement and other things they need for their stations. Tickets can be purchased for $30 from Crookston firefighters or at the firehouse. Crookston Firefighter Cole Ricard is excited about the upcoming event and hopes that many will come due to it after its cancellation last year due to COVID, “Hopefully, everyone’s on the field, even though they want to be in the field.” Ricard explained, “We can get a bigger crowd out there and get spring started with a bang!”
