The Crookston Fleet Supply store is hosting a Military/Veteran appreciation event for the public and all of the local veterans and currently serving military personnel on Friday, October 21, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, whether you are a military member or not.
Despite Veteran’s Day being only three weeks away and the county participating in Operation: Green Light in November, the Fleet Supply decided not to wait to show its appreciation for those that have served the country. “Honestly, I think they should be thanked every day, so we just went with a day. We have customers that come in that are veterans, but to us, they’re more than customers. They’ve become our friends. We’ve been talking with them and their experiences, and it boggles the mind what they have been through, how young they were when they served, what they’ve experienced, and I can’t even imagine some of the things they’ve seen. So, I talked with my co-workers and said, “Let’s do something for them.” It’s just a little thing we can do, so we want to say thank you to them.”
The Fleet Supply will have a few events happening throughout the store to let people meet their veterans and is making special deals for the event. “We just want to honor all of our military. Whether you’re military or not, if you could come in and show your support, we’d love to see you here. We’re going to have prizes for people that have served in the military in the past or present,” Fleet Supply Manager Kim Ventura explained. “We’re going to have goodies, coffee, table setups so there can be some visiting going on, and there’s going to be a 10%-off storewide sale for our military, past or present.” Ventura explained that every item within the store will be a part of their 10% sale except for a few items but is encouraging the public to come in, take advantage of the special offers, and show their appreciation to the military members. Some of the drawing prizes include Carhartt hats, leather gloves, lanterns, and an assortment of other items.
The Fleet Supply military/veteran appreciation event will be held this Friday, October 21, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
